Ultraschall ist die Region der Schallwellen mit Frequenzen oberhalb der menschlich Hörgrenze, in manchen Fällen weit darüber hinaus. Das menschliche Gehör hat eine obere Hörgrenze die Selten 20kHz übersteigt. Normale Ultraschall Geräte operieren hingegen zumeißt im Bereich von 20mHz (1000 mal höher als das menschliche Ohr hören kann) und in manchen Fällen sogar bis in den Gigahertz Bereich hinein.

Wir haben langjährige Erfahrung mit medizinischen Ultraschall Anwendungen und insbesondere mit Intravaskulärem Ultraschall (IVUS.) IVUS ist eine etablierte und erfolgreiche Imaging Technologie, die verwendet wird, um tief in die Arterien des menschlichen Herzens blicken zu können, um Blockaden zu entdecken und zu analysieren damit drug eluting Stents präzise implantiert und beobachtet werden können.

Unsere Ultraschall Mission ist Produkt orientiert: Unsere gesammte Arbeit in diesem Bereich hat kommerzielle Produkte zum Ziel. Diese innovativen medizinischen Ultraschall Geräte können unter anderem Kapselsysteme, Katheter, Stoff Charakertisierungs Geräte und Algorithmen sein.

Firmengründer Bob Crowley und Hugh Tripp blicken auf jahrelange Erfahrung im Ultraschall Bereich zurück. Bob's Ultraschall Arbeitsgruppe bei Boston Scientific war verantwortlich für die grundsteinlegende technische Entwicklung des weltweit ersten auf den Menschen abgestimmten IVUS Systems.
